In 1823 Josef Lobmeyr senior founded the company in Vienna. The superlative quality of their craftsmanship was quickly recognised, and Lobmeyr was appointed as Purveyor to the Imperial Austrian Court.

Lobmeyr is now in its sixth generation as a family business, and has been sustained by their love of their materials, their emotional connection with their products and their commitment of personal energy.
