THE MODERNS
The Moderns- A landmark exhibition in Perth.
Editeur collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned artisans, designers and galleries to present this ground-breaking show. The Moderns offered an extraordinary and discerning selection of contemporary works and classic vintage lighting which represented the best available anywhere in the world
Major highlights included Christopher Boots’ “Vanity Screen”, an ultra-limited edition piece inspired by the heavens, incorporating clear and smoky quartz crystals and lapis lazuli embedded in a lunar-landscape of solid bronze, and two of his quartz crystal “Meteors” hanging against the backdrop of a custom metallic bronze and gold wall-paper.
In a major coup, editeur featured the work of the brilliant French designer Christian Astuguevieille, and exhibited beautiful examples of his intriguing and highly individual primitivist rope-wrapped works in Australia for the first time.
In another coup editeur negotiated with Ralph Pucci Gallery New York who agreed to offer some of the best examples of contemporary furniture and lighting from Paul Mathieu, Patrick Naggar and John Koga.
Lamps from the 70s and 80s by Italian manufacturers Vistosi, Barbini, and la Murrina clustered beneath Christophe Gaignon’s masterfully metaphysical wall-mirrors. Pieces in coppery metallic finishes by Italian ceramicist Robi Renzi featured in editeur’s chic, dark micro-gallery.
Editeur also showcased stunning examples of the work of star ceramicists Peter Lane and Shizue Imai (both of New York) and Daniel Reynolds (London).
