GUY BAREFF
Celebrated French sculptor Guy Bareff grew up surrounded by ceramicists (his father was a founder of the famous Potiers d’Accolay).
He began producing ceramics at a young age and has enjoyed a prolific career, The 1970’s were an especially productive period during which he exhibited extensively and completed large-scale international commissions.
Bareff’s new pieces recall his iconic 70’s style, while being informed by their contemporary context.
Bareff abandons glazes, allowing the spirit of his work to be expressed through the innate qualities of clay, celebrating the warmth of colour and the tactility of raw texture in its pure form.
