Daniel Costa is a South-Tyrolean artist residing in Schlanders, Vinschgau Valley. Born in Brixen, South Tyrol, he felt constrained by the narrow valleys and left for the Netherlands at 19. Studying at the Design Academy Eindhoven, he graduated Cum Laude in 2012, focusing on ceramics and textiles.
In 2013, Daniel moved to Paris, working as the creative assistant to Lidewij Edelkoort for five years. This period involved global travel, lecturing, and teaching, expanding his knowledge in textiles, imagery, and creative consulting. Photography became a new medium of expression, blending his tactile interests with visual art.
Seeking deeper fulfillment, Daniel embarked on a personal study program in 2018, exploring textiles in India and Nepal. This journey led to the creation of a rug collection and a return to South Tyrol in 2021. Today, Daniel presents the treasures discovered through this extensive journey of creativity and self-discovery.
